Anna Jensen, RD, LD
Nutrition Philosophy: I practice using evidenced-based nutrition and rejecting diet culture to help my clients achieve food freedom and find their best self.
Hi, Anna here! I developed an interest in cooking when I was very young, and got my first kids cookbook at 10 years old. In high school, I began to take interest in nutrition as I learned what foods helped my performance as a cross country athlete. Unfortunately in high school I was misguided through the endless supply of “nutrition” information on the internet and social media. I soon found myself not trusting my own body to know what it needs. This experience inspired me to become a Registered Dietitian – to help others learn how to listen to their bodies instead of the diet culture noise.
Throughout my years a a nutrition major at Clemson University (Go Tigers!) I began to understand the science behind nutrition, and how diet culture can so negatively impact ones life. It wasn’t too long into my college career that I found myself wanting to teach others how to experience this same food freedom through learning how to eat intuitively.
During my post-baccalaureate dietetic internship at Winthrop University, I had the opportunity to precept under Brittany Jones, MS, RD, LD. This is where I saw my dream of helping clients ditch diet mentality come to life. As an intern, I enjoyed taking a dive into debunking the intermittent fasting diet trend (see article here). In addition to seeing clients at the Brittany Jones Nutrition Group, I also practice Medical Nutrition Therapy as a clinical dietitian working in both the inpatient and outpatient setting at a local hospital.
If you feel you have lost touch with what your body needs, you are not alone! My ultimate goal is to be on your team and help guide you to a place of food freedom – but I understand that can also be scary. It is my priority to provide a safe environment for my clients to enable work toward a place of body trust and acceptance.
In my free time, I enjoy biking or walking on the Swamp Rabbit with my husband, trying out the newest restaurants in Greenville, and taking weekend trips to new places! In the fall, you will find me proudly wearing orange on a Saturday cheering on the Clemson Tigers!
